Kiwanians, I am excited to invite you to our 2012 Midwinter Conference on March 3, 2012 at the Penn Stater Hotel, State College, PA. Enclosed you will find information on the conference.

In an effort to lower costs and allow more members to consider attendance, the conference will be one day only. The program will open at 9:00 AM and conclude by 4:30 PM. Please be sure to review and share the enclosed program outline.

The cost to register and attend the conference is $65.00. This includes the registration fee, Saturday lunch, two coffee & snake breaks, all presentations and forums and all conference materials. This will be our one and only registration option.

For those that want to come early and/or stay late, we have a limited number of hotel rooms reserved at the Penn Stater at the rate of $119.00 $99.00 plus tax per night. For early arrivals on Friday, there will be a hospitality room.

I am particularly excited about our luncheon that will be focused on early learning and young children. We will have a panel discussion with experts from education, business and law enforcement joining Kiwanians to provide insight on the importance of early learning and why we as Kiwanians need to involve advocates on this issue. Additional information on speakers will be provided as they are confirmed.

We plan to have buses coming from various areas of the state. Buses will leave from the various corners of the state early Saturday morning and will pick up Kiwanis members along the way and then return along the same routes after the close of the program on Saturday. Routes, pick up points and costs are presently being finalized and will be sent to all clubs and Kiwanis members.

Our goal is 350 Kiwanians in attendance at the conference. I am an avid Ohio State fan. If we reach the goal of 350 Kiwanians, I will do something I have never done before – wear Penn State clothing and paraphernalia from head to toe! So come partake of a great program, education, fellowship, food and Kiwanis spirit and be at the 2012 Midwinter conference!!!
