Kiwanis Club of Allentown-Salisbury

The Kiwanis Club of Allentown-Salisbury looks outward as well as inward. It reaches out to attract members from the greater Allentown/Salisbury community, people of high moral character and concern for human betterment. Inwardly, it offers its members personal growth through hearty fellowship and teamwork, plus the benefits of many strong friendships. And it turns outward again to deliver an extensive program of civic and benevolent services. It is an outstanding example of comradship and voluntarism in action.

Club membership includes men and women in a wide range of occupations and age groups. Thus it offers a new member an opportunity to become personally acquainted with people of good standing in many vocations, with varied backgrounds and experience.

Meetings consist of breakfast, a program or speaker, and a short business session.

KIWANIS is a world-wide service organization with more than 350,000 members in more thanb 77 countries. Membership affords men and women the opportunity to become personally involved in community betterment projects.

KIWANIS is a Native American term meaning "self expression" or "to have a good time and make noise (our members prefer the latter!) The Kiwanis motto is "We Build, and through club activities, we are building a better community.

The first KIWANIS Club was formed in Detroit, Michigan, in January, 1915. Our Allentown/Salisbuclub was organized on October 10, 1962.
