Imm Past Governor - John Burke
I was born in Newark New Jersey, across the Hudson River from New York City.
My elementary and high school education was in the public school there.
After graduating from high school I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served six years. While in the Corps I served a tour of duty in Southeast Asia as a rifleman and finished in Washington DC attached to the Presidential Security Unit.
After my service I attended LaSalle College in Philadelphia earning a BS Degree in Business Administration with post graduate studies in economics and finance.
I am employed at Mid-Atlantic Packaging in Montgomerville PA as the Ex. VP Secretary/ Treasurer.
Included in my business resume I have also served on the board of directors of four for profit corporations, three domestic and one foreign.
I am the recipient of the of the Mayor Dinunzio Public Service award from the Lansdale Jaycees for my work as Past President of the North Penn Valley Boys and Girls Club, Past General Campaign Chair of the North Penn United Way, and service on the board of directors of the same and their foundation board, and the North Penn Visiting Nurses.
Eadie, new club builder of the Pennridge KiwanisClub, and I have been married for thirty fours years with three children John, new member of the Pennridge Kiwanis Club, Meredith, who is the administrative assistant to the dean of the school of Arts and Sciences at the University of Virginia, and Kristin, who is attending the University of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine.
Kiwanis awards are as follows: distinguished President distinguished Lt. Governor, diamond level Hixson, Tablet of Honor, Heritage Society, and Pliney Wilson.
